Cave Condom

This is a large robust member of the "sprogophidian" clade. it gets its name from the fact that it lives in caves and other secluded well protect locals and because its gaping second head makes it resemble a sock...or condom. it waits within the safety of its cave until curious prey aproaches upon which it launches its secondary head out of the fleshy protective outer layer and engulfs the unfortunate victim. They do not leave their homes unless extremely threatened or if food becomes scarce. they have no true defence other than crawling further into the safety of their cave or vommitting up their previous meal as a burning acidic paste. I am not sure how they could easily reproduce being as sedentary as they are so I think the females should remain in the cave while the male is severly smaller and more active and seek out females durring the mating season. Given the size of the female perhaps it is realistic for her to obtain multiple pregnancies from multiple partners, a good adaptation given their secluded lifestyle. If a young cave condom finds a cave already inhabbited by a rival female a lengthy battle ensues between them in which they vommit upon one another. The loser will be removed from the cave if they are fortunate, if not they are more often than not devoured by the dominant female.

This was, although a simlistic design, highly entertaining. Given the design of sprogophidians such as Pitmouths and Sausagetails, such a creature as the Cave Condom was inevitable. For those familiar with Barlowe's Expedition the parallel between the Cave Condom and Forest Gulper are obvious, but each remains unique in many ways.
